GIZ BUSINESS SCOUTS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND TWCC EMPOWER WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN TANZANIA

GIZ- Business Scouts for Development (BSfD) and the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC) recently conducted visits to evaluate the impact of their projects aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs in the Textile, Fashion, and Apparel Industry in Tanzania. These initiatives have proven to be instrumental in fostering growth, providing new opportunities, and transforming the lives of women entrepreneurs.

Led by Mr. Philipp Glaeser, Head of the International Component at GIZ, the team visited beneficiaries of the Fashion For Change Phase I project in Tanzania. The primary objective of this visit was to assess the progress of the project and evaluate its impact on women in the industry. One of the beneficiaries, Chante,a fashion designer,demonstrated remarkable progress, successfully employing workers and expanding her customer base both locally and internationally. The commitment and support of GIZ-BSfD in empowering women in Tanzania have been widely appreciated, as their efforts have created an environment where women can thrive.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In another initiative, the team also visited MIMII WINE, a TWCC member and wine producer/distributor benefiting from GIZ programs through the 21st Juakali Nguvu Kazi Exhibition held in December 2021 in Mwanza, Tanzania. The purpose was to evaluate how GIZ programs, facilitated through TWCC, have benefited women entrepreneurs in the country. MIMII WINE expressed gratitude for the opportunity to enhance their skills, receive business training, and access new markets through GIZ’s programs facilitated by TWCC.
GIZ has been delighted to witness the positive impact of their programs, which have transformed the lives of entrepreneurs in Tanzania.
TWCC extends its sincere gratitude to GIZ-BSfd for their commendable work in empowering women entrepreneurs in Tanzania through their programs. It is our hope that these programs will continue to yield positive results and serve as a catalyst for success and development in the business and entrepreneurial sectors for women in the country.
